eating gyros
Can you have gyros while being pregnant? There are so yummy cant imagine not eating one for months. I am thinking that maybe the sauce might be the problem

I have had them the sauce is only yogurt and onion I dont think its a problem and I an very picky at what I eat B/C I have gestational diabetes...

Oh come on. I don't care if gyros are bad or not! I'm still going to eat them.
I highly doubt our mothers dealt with such strict dietary rules when they were pregnant!

Bad really? I've had chicken gyros. I don't think it's the sauce, that's just yogurt or sour cream (depending where)...I know you can't have feta if not pasturized, but that's not usually on gyros...maybe nitrates (sp) in the gyro meat?

You can have Gyros and the sauce (perfectly safe) but they are very bad for you....
You don't want to know what goes in the gyro they are very high in fat and salt......if you have a gyro try to eat the chicken one......
also, all feta in the US and Greece is pasteruzied so enjoy eating it...even the smelly one from the barrel (the only one I get) perfectly safe to eat...

I am Greek. You can bet the house that I ate gyros AND feta cheese throught my pregnancy and I am happy to report that my little "baby gyro" is healthy as can be!!!
