My Baby is Breech!!!
What exactly does that mean for us? My doc said that if he doesn't turn in the next 2 wks that I will get another sono but for what? What happens if he doesn't turn?

Re: My Baby is Breech!!!
A couple of my friends had this happen and they ended up having no choice but to get a c-section.

Re: My Baby is Breech!!!
Can't they try and turn him if he doesn't do it on his own?
I've had friends with breech babies that turn on their own -- no worries

Re: My Baby is Breech!!!
This happened to me. I had a growth sono at 32 week and he was breech. They said if he didn't flip by 34 then they would schedule to move him around manually (if I wanted…which I did b/c I don't want a C-section). If I didn't mind a C-section, then they would leave him as is. The dr. told me to go online and see what I could find about moving him "on my own." I found some interesting things and I tried one that was successful!
1. place something cold (bag of frozen veggies is recommended) on the top part of your belly right under your boobs. The baby may flip to move away from the cold.
2. Go swimming! Being in the water simulates zero gravity which will make it easier for the baby to turn b/c there will be no weight pulling him/her down.
3. Do headstands while in the pool! Same as #2 but also helps them turn.
4. Lay on the floor and place your feet on the wall up high with your shoulders on the floor so you are laying on an angle. With your pelvis raised, it may help the baby flip. (I found this to be much to complicated at 8 ½ months pregnant).
5. (THIS IS THE ONE THAT WORKED FOR ME!!). Place headphone speakers on the lower half of your belly right above your pubic area. Play music, preferably classical. Eventually the baby will move closer to the music so he/she can hear it better. (I did this for about an hour on a Monday night. moved around like crazy when I was playing the music. When I woke up on Tuesday morning there was a noticeable difference in where he was in my belly. His head was no where it was on Monday night (leaning on my right rib cage) and I felt a lot of movement in areas that I hadn't felt before. I went for my 2nd sono last night and it was confirmed that flipped and is in position!!!

Re: My Baby is Breech!!!
My baby was breech up until this past weekend. She turned on her own. There was no way in hell I would want a doctor to manually turn her. It is painful and not always successful and they do turn back. I also wouldnt be caught dead doing handstands in a pool 8 months pregnant - but everyone is different. I am 35 weeks today.
We did not jump to schedule a c-section because we wanted to give her the opportunity to move and she did. We do know she could turn again. If you reach a certain point in your pregnancy, a doctor will take a breech baby through c-section a week to two weeks early BEFORE a woman goes into labor to reduce the risks to both the mother and the child. Our plan was to wait until week 37 and if she hadnt turned on her own, we were going to schedule a c-section for week 39.
