Spinoff: What exactly does Toner do?

I feel like I have tried it once or twice in the past-- and it dried me out.

What is the point of incorporating into your routine?

And do you use at night? Or under make-up?

It is supposed to deep clean/tighten the pores. I don't use one, but I am thinking of starting. I just have sooooooooo many used once or twice bottles in my bathroom and I am trying to cut down. You use it after you cleanse, I would use it at night.

in the clinique 3-step, it's step #2 after cleansing, before moisturizing.

i don't use it either - it definitely dries me out.

I have a really old-fashioned skin care regiment - I remove makeup with Albolene, cleanse whole face with cetaphil, then moisturize with cetaphil lotion.

I definitely could use some pore tightening...

I have a GC to Sephora-- which I usually don't shop at... I need some new brushes though, so perhaps the chicks can recco one for my skin... Although, I don't usually find them too helpful when I go in there-- I guess that's why I don't shop there too much!

I have oily skin so I used to use the most drying toner I could find....then I started getting facials at mario badescu and they told me NO NO NO no alcohol in your toner.
