What should I do?

So I have been having some issues that seem to be making work difficult. First, I have horrible varicose veins that hurt when I am on my feet for long periods of time. At my job, I work 13 hour shifts and a lot of the time I am up on my feet walking so the veins are usually killing at the end of the day. Next, I have one HUGE inguinal hernia that I think I got at work and now it hurts when I am at work or walking. I also potentially have an umbilical hernia, but I'm not 100% sure (they are watching it for now). And finally, yesterday I ended up in L&D with contractions becuase I have a UTI. I know it's not realted but it definately gave me a scare and I know that a lot of time I don't drink enough water at work which can also lead to more contractions.

So my dilema is if I should stop working or not. DH doesn't want me to go back at all and I don't really want to either, but I'm not sure that my doctor will put me out on disability because of these things. Is there another way to go out besides disability? We will be ok without the money so I can take an unpaid leave, but I have no idea how to go about all this. I'm just confused and looking for anyone who has any experience with this.

I would talk to your dr about all of these things and see what he/she recommends.

Is there opportunity for you to lessen your hours or work a couple of days a week?

Yeah I am probably going to call tomorrow.

I don't think I would be able to do less hours, but I could talk to my boss about that too. I am scheduled to go PT at the end of August, but right now it would be difficult to change the entire schedule.

IMO - the most important thing right now is takng care of you and your baby. Honestly, its only going to get worse you get closer to your 9th month! Chat Icon so talk to your Dr and see if he will let you stop workng. imo i dont really think the Dr cares if we work or dont work, it has no impact to them so if you let him know how uncomfortable you are I am sure he will allow you to stop working and provide you with whatever documentation you need.

I think you need to do what is good for you and your family I dont think that any doc would have a problem taking someone out of work for any reason... I am a nursing assistant and was kicked in the stomach by a patient at 6 weeks I told the doc to take me out for the 1st trimester and he did then I went back for 2 days and ended have a partial prevea and have been out ever since so I would have to say that if you dont need the money that badly why work you can always go back when you are ready stop torturing yourself
