Which one am I not supposed to have -- the diet part (aspertame/splenda) or the caffiene?

Re: Diet Coke?
I've gotten rid of all diet beverages. I have one caffinated beverage a day. This is Kerry rules only. I was a caffine addict before. I gave up smoking, so I feel I still deserve a little caffine from time to time.

Re: Diet Coke?
Both! The diet part is what everyone says is a no-no. You are allowed to have some caffeine daily, but check with your doc to see how much she/he is comfortable with you having. I love Caffeine Free Coke but it is a biitch to find in stores!!

Re: Diet Coke?
no artifical sweeteners....
caffeine I eliminated completely too...
as for crystal light, even if it had sugar, I personally would avoid all the other chemicals in that powder... (artificial flavors / colors)... definitely are healthier options... maybe some berry juice cut with water?

Re: Diet Coke?
Diet Coke is the one thing that I really, truly miss during pregnancy.
My Dr said splenda is okay (and I *think* they make some Diet Coke with splenda - or maybe they used to?) but I cut out all of the artificial all together. I think that they say splenda is okay but they really haven't had long enough to test it.
ETA: One of the biggest hurdles that I have had is finding something to replace all of my diet coke, fresca, crystal light, etc. I hate all of the empty sugar calories associated with regular soda. I recently tried Izze which is a sparkling beverage made with fruit juice - all natural. It is pretty good - you might want to give it a try. I get it at Costco, but they have it at target too.

my Dr said no to crystal light bc of the artificial sweetner. And as far as soda, I drink the regular caffeine free- no diet soda either
I am sure its fine in moderation but I just prefer to stay away

Re: Diet Coke?
Diet soda is what I miss the most...I told my husband that I want a big fountain diet soda right after I deliver!!!
I know what you mean about giving up all the diet drinks. Thats all I used to drink...its really hard, but I have been drinking decaf iced tea and that helps a little.

Re: Diet Coke?
I just switched to regular, caffeine fee sodas like sprite, root beer, orange. I rarely had soda but once your not supposed to have something, you want it

Re: Diet Coke?
I would not drink any diet soda because of the artificial sweetner. A little caffeine is fine.
