Our tech would not venture a guess at the ultrascreen

Re: Is it possible to determine the sex....
our doc guessed, and I totally think he was wrong....It wasn't my regular doc. We went for a 12 week sono/ultrascreen at NSUH Manhasset....Some will venture to guess, but not many.

Re: Is it possible to determine the sex....
I would not find out at 12 weeks. Too many stories of guesses or people being told only to later find out the opposite when everything is developed more.
Is it POSSIBLE they will be right? Sure! But I wouldn't start painting a nursery or registering for a specific gender after it, that is just my opinion! One friend of ours was told at 11 weeks and they happened to be right, but another friend was told girl and it was a boy (at 12 weeks)...

That is where I had my ultrascreen. Was it Dr Bernasko who guessed?

Well when I had mine the tech said she would not tell and wen the dr came in that was the first thing he asked us. I guess everyone is different.

I don't think so.... I don't know his name...
I totally agree with the PP, I wouldn't go painting the room or anything, even the sono tech said that after he guessed, and roller her eyes actually. It was pretty funny. My gut instinct is that his guess was wrong....

Re: Is it possible to determine the sex....
My tech guessed at my 12 week sono and it was confirmed at the Level II.
Because it was so early, I didn't want to rely on the 12 week prediction though.

Re: Is it possible to determine the sex....
My tech was pretty positive at 14 weeks 6 days that it was a boy. I think its easier if its a boy you know. Girls they can make mistakes or things could be hidden

Re: Is it possible to determine the sex....
I think that is kind of early, I just found out last week at 18 weeks but wasn't supposed to find out until 20 weeks at my level II appt. But some girls find out around 16 weeks
Good luck!

Re: Is it possible to determine the sex....
Just out of curiosity (we aren't finding out the gender)- At the 12 week, do they have to specifically look for the sex of the baby- meaning, all my pics I got were like profile body shots and I'm assuming, I wouldnt be able to see any "parts" in a sono like that and thats the only position that I could tell that the tech was looking at ...In my sono pic I see like a little white thing, kinda on the babys leg and now I'm wondering if its a boy part- My DH says I'm crazy because it would be way too big (ironically, I saw the same white part on my DS's sono, which is what had me thinking )
