Update on us - UPDATED!!
Good morning wonderful ladies.
I wanted to give you an update on what has been going on for us. We went for the genetic counseling and amnio on Thursday. I thought everything went really well. The first thing the counselor said to us was "I like you're fine." The amnio went well, although it did hurt! The little guy (yup, it's a boy!) was very curious about what was invading his house and tried to grab for the sunt. They assured me that it was soft and would not hurt him.
We should have the FISH results back later this afternoon and the full amnio results as soon as the end of the week. We are trying very hard to be as positive as we can and I think we're doing a pretty good job! Please keep the prayers coming. They really do help!
I'll let you all know as soon as we hear anything.

So I'm trying my hardest to hold off on calling the Dr. to see if the results are in. Not sure how much longer I can wait though.

So...here is the story! I finally broke down and called my Doctor to get the results of the FISH. The doctor's office said that they did not have them and that I could call back in an hour. I asked if I could call Lenox Hill to check if they had sent the results and they said I could so I called. They said that they had sent the results this morning and that my doctor should have them. I thanked her and was just about to hang up when she said "and everything is fine." I have to be honest I was kind of stunned and said "Really??"
So I call my Dr.'s office and said that the hospital had faxed them over this morning. It turns out that my Dr. is not in on Monday's and that all her paperwork gets put into her office for her to review. They said I could call tomorrow for the results. I said that I would but then told her what the lady at Lenox Hill said and asked "does she know what she was talking about." The woman at my Dr's office said yes but that I should still call back tomorrow to speak to Dr. Kwan which I will of course do. I now have 1,000 questions for her too!
So although it's not directly from the Dr. I do think the FISH results are clear. What that means for the full amnio results I don't know exactly but I'll certainly keep you all informed!
