Re: Baby Shower Question

One of my friend's used to work at a bookstore. They used to make baskets that they would ship of all the fave childhood books. Maybe you can replicate something like that.

Re: Baby Shower Question

You could always do a gift certificate since they will certainly need to buy diapers/formula for after the baby is born. But if you do go off the registry with a general gift, make sure to include the reciept since it might be a duplicate of something she already has.

I've done the giftcard thing in the past as well. I agree about the receipt thing too.

i like the basket idea. For one shower I got the diaper bag she had registered for and filled it with a bunch of stuff (baby powder, wipes, diapers, etc. You can always do that too. I'm assuming the one she registered or hasbeen bought but you can still get her another.

Re: Baby Shower Question

One of the best gifts I received at my shower was something I didn't even register for- a basket full of Baby Einstein books, toys, & cds. I absolutely LOVED it!!! I thought it was a great idea, & even better- It came from a mother of two toddlers who SWEARS by Baby Einstein.

Re: Baby Shower Question

I have given numerous time a gift certificate to kiddy kandids for baby's first pictures. Everyone I have given it to, loves it, because it's different and the pics can get expensive!

ETA: For my best friend when she had her first baby, I gave her the GC for pictures for the baby..and a pair of nursing PJ's for mommy! Mommy needs presents too Chat Icon

Yes a mommy gift would be great too. Mich when we threw one of the ladies at work a baby shower I got her baby clothes and then I made a small spa type gift basket for her. She loved it!

I love the book basket idea. You can get great children's books at places like TJMaxx, Marshall's, etc. I loved having so many books for DD. I only recently bought a few since we got so many as gifts.

Re: Baby Shower Question

Definately - also you can always buy some pampers, wipes, etc.

When it comes to clothes you can also get some bigger sizes for later on.
