Please be brutally honest
As of my latest Dr appt @ 27 weeks 4 days, I was up a whopping 42 lbs! I NEVER do this, and I m the LAST person to obsess about weight, but it just dawned on me that I already exceeded the recommended weight gain and I still have 3 mos to go! Please be brutally honest and tell me if I really look like I have gained that much weight.
1st pic~ Sept before PG 2nd pic~ 12 weeks 3rd & 4th pics ~ 27 weeks 5 days
** For some reason, the 12 week pic is not coming up, but it is in my album Image Attachment(s):

Where you underweight pre-pregnancy? I don't think you look too big, sure you have a belly but thats the only place I can tell it is showing.

Re: Please be brutally honest
Sometimes when you start out very thin you gain a lot. As long as your obgyn thinks it's ok, I wouldn't worry. I agree, you don't look that big.

As long as your blood pressure is OK- STOP worrying.
You looked a bit underweight in the first pic. No joke, my SIL gained 60 pounds (she's 5'4) during her pregnancy. She has since lost ALL the weight (1 year later).

Re: Please be brutally honest
You look very thin before pregnancy, and thin women can sometimes can more. I've heard of thin women gaining 60lbs plus during pregnancy, and actually losing it pretty quickly afterwards. You look great! Don't let it bother you. If your doctor says to start watching out for the weight gain, then follow his/her advice. Otherwise, try not to worry and just know that different people gain different amounts.

Re: Please be brutally honest
I was 130 last pregnancy and gained 50 pounds by the end of my last pregnancy. To me, I thought that was too much. I'm also 5'5. I'm trying to keep my weight down this pregnancy by exercising and watching what I eat.
If you feel healthy, then don't worry about the numbers. Chances are you will probably drop the weight quickly in the end.

Re: Please be brutally honest
You do NOT look like you've gained 42 pounds at all...you look great in your pics.
However....I will say that 42 pounds at 27 weeks is a big gain. Not in terms of vanity issues...in terms of health issues. You still have quite a while to go in pregnancy and that number would concern me, as chances of hypertenstion, gestational diabetes, etc..can be higher.
And you very well may drop some weight here and there in the last trimester, some people do. Is your doctor concerned?? Go by what they say. I am sure you will be ok, but just giving my honest opinion. Good luck!!

Re: Please be brutally honest
What did your dr say?
At this time in my PG I had gained about the same amount and things started becoming weird. They realized I had a lot of amnitoic fluid around week 30 and it kept doubling every week. (This is typically not a problem for the baby, mainly gives mommy some trouble.) This is also something that is typical with GD (However, I did not have it, so doctors have no idea why it happened to me.)
Will you have any other sonos? Again, it's nothing to be worried about. You really look great!! Just thought I'd let you know what happened with me. If you have any questions, please FM me.

I am 5'5". I was 118 pre-pregnancy (a little under) as of monday I was 161!
i am sorry but i AM going to laugh at you!!
ok, now i feel better.
sweetie, you look GREAT for being 6 months pregnant. i am 5'4" and i weight just over 160 now. i have gained about 25-28 lbs total (might be more, i see the doctor today) but i started at 135.
does 42 lbs in six months sound like a lot? sure it does! but you were soooooo skinny to begin with!!! unless ALL you eat is cake, cookies and ice cream, the only reason you put that much weight on is because your body knows that you need it for the baby.
trust me, you look fantastic!! you are alllllll belly!!
ETA: yes, the GD might be to blame for some of that weight gain, and it's something you need to discuss with your OBGYN. however, as long as you follow the "diet" i would not worry. some women just gain more than others.

You look great!!!! You are all belly and yes you looked under weight to begin with so I would think that your body is trying to make up for that.. As long as you are eating healthy and your dr's says everything is fine.. than I wouldn't worry.. I am sure you will be back to 118 in no time after this pg. Really the most important thing is that you and your baby are healthy.

Re: Please be brutally honest
Let me just say that with my first pregnancy, I started off 5'7" and I weighed 118. I gained close to 60 pounds during my pregnancy, and I lost it all within maybe 4 months. I wouldn't worry about gaining too much, unless your doctor thinks it may cause a problem (high blood pressure, GD, etc...)
BTW, I think you look great!
