ASPCA Commercial
Has anyone seen it?
It's the one with "In the arms of the angel" by Sarah McLaughlin playing in the background.
Well yesterday, while watching Platinum Weddings on WE, this commercial came on. By the end I was crying. It was so sad.
I told DH about it and how there are all of these poor animals that get passed over at the shelters. He said "do you want to go to the shelter now?"
I was shocked that he said this since we were on the fence about getting another dog.
I said "do you?"
Our intention was just to look and if any dog caught our hearts, then we'll take it from there.
So at 12:30 we head out to the shelter.
The 1st one we went to was closed, so we went to another one.
There is one dog that we really like and could see in our family.
The dog is extremely overweight and has cherry eye. They're waiting until he loses more weight to do the surgery on his eye.
I think we're going to put an application in! DH and I are going to talk more in depth about it today to see if this is really the right decision.
(We already have 1 dog and 1 cat)
I'm so excited and scared at the same time

Oh good luck! I am tearing up just thinking about that commercial. I have to leave the room or change the channel whenever it is on, cause it makes me bawl everytime

Same here. It's a powerful commercial, which is really a good thing! One day I had the TV on in my classroom (5th grade) and that commercial came on. Many of them were crying, most took down the number, and about 5 of them said they asked their parents to call and donate! I was so proud of them!
