Re: What do you think?
It makes me that they refer to it as "kerb-crawling." That's my new favorite term.
I feel bad for women who have to resort to prostitution. As someone in the article said, women who turn to that often have limited opportunities. Few women really aspire to do that when they grow up.
If working in threes helps ensure their safety I think it's a good idea. It's going to happen no matter what. Frankly, I don't care what other people do behind closed doors, but I also would hate to see the "evidence" in the street. There will always be men who want to pay for sex and women who will provide it.

Re: What do you think?
I never thought of that before-that a man could be faced with rape if he buys sex from a girl who was a victim of trafficing..I don't know why someone would be against that.
As far as the mini-brothels, it kind of just sounds like they want them off the streets, out of site out of mind. Which really does not solve the main problem of women being so desperate to use this as a way to support themselves.
As far as the three person rule, could it be 2 prostitutes and a man working as the receptionist?
I have read that European countries really do not have pimps like we do here. The woman are on their own, running their own businesses. If we had mini brothels, I think it would just mean that a pimp owns 3 brothels instead of 9 prostitutes.

Prostitution is the oldest preofession in the world, and I think that these women put their lives on a limb every day, it's happening everywhere. "Illegal" brothels are everywhere so this will just make it public.

Re: What do you think?
I don't think prostituion will ever go away. there will always be a need for it, and when there is a need, there is a supplier.
I think that if you make in public, you can regulate the business. You can make sure there are condoms being used and regularly test the girls who work there. You can also make sure the girls are getting paid. For example, if now a pimp/madam does not pay the prostitute, she has no resource and is , literally and figuratively, screwwed. I think it provides better safety when its regulated than the way it is now.
Also- can you imagine if they taxed it?? That would be one way to make some revenue!!! I always say the US should legalize pot just to tax it. We can cure up the deficit and our national debt in about 1 year!!

But aren't you bringing in issues of doc/patient confidentiality ?
Say a prostitute gets tested and has some health issues going on...
She doesn't have to tell anyone? At least not here in the states
So how do we ensure health hazards?
