Those with MF and Varicoceles?
If your DH/SO had the surgery did the count improve significantly? How long did it take to do so?
DH has bi-lateral varicoceles and an appt with a urologist next week to discuss surgery. We were going to do another IVF but now we are toying with the idea of having DH do the surgery...then take it from there.
Does anyone know stats for the surgery?

Re: Those with MF and Varicoceles?
My DH has the same. It was not suggested that he do the surgery now. The drs didnt feel it would increase our chances all that much. They did prescibe clomid for him to take though. They said it would be 9-12 months before there were any improvements.
I know someone who did the surgery and then went for IVF at NYU Hospital. The drs there said the surgery is not a great option.
I would think everyone is different though. Best of luck to you!

Re: Those with MF and Varicoceles?
My dh has varicoceles and our prior RE and his urologist both said to hold off on the surgery. That was 3 years ago, he never had it. Our new RE says that we should have had the surgery done during my pg with DD as by now it may have made a difference and we could have perhaps avoided ivf. I think its something we will consider if/when we get pg again.
