scary ? about miscarriage

ok girls, so I'm about 7 weeks pregnant and have had spotting for the last week...I had a sono and went to the doc and he said everything was ok so far..ofcourse I can't help but still worry ofcourse...so my question to you is...when am I "out of the woods", per say, of having a miscarriage? I know things can happen at anytime, but is there a more specific time frame that I can maybe stop worrying a little less? TIA

Crashing- but to answer your question, I believe at 12 weeks your chance of miscarriage reduces drasticallyChat Icon

Re: scary ? about miscarriage

My OB told me once there was a HB (at 7 weeks), that my chance of carrying the baby to term was 99%.

A week later my RE told me that once there was a HB, my chances of carrying the baby to term were 90%.

This was both in response to my sonograms, not a general figure.

at my first appt yesterday, my doc told me that at 6 weeks with a HB, chances of m/c are around 10%. 8 weeks and still a HB, less than 3% chance of a m/c.

i agree too! i went throught the same thing. i believe what is happening is called implantation bleeding.

you will have brownish spotting for about 2 weeks- or atleast in my case...
i am in my 13th wk and i've been clear for the past 4 weeks

good luck!

Mine said something like this, except I think it was HB at 8 weeks= 10% (I was 8wks 2 days at first sono) and if still a heartbeat at 10 weeks, less than 4%. I think it was around 10 weeks that it went from the embryo stage to the fetal stage, and that was the difference. And then once you hit 12 weeks, chances were drastically lower.
