When proactiv stops working...
what do you switch to?
I've been using proactiv for about 8-10 months now and the last 2 months it just hasn't been working the same as it did in the beginning. I've been breaking out like crazy at certain times (mostly in one area on my right cheek) and the proactiv treatments seem to just be making it worse... if that's possible.
Has this happened to anyone? What did you switch to?
Should I stop proactiv for a while then go back to using it?

your skin probably just got used to it....try something new for a couple of weeks, and then go back.

Same thing happened to me , I got immuned to it! I now use St Ives Apricot scrub and it works great

proactiv worked for me for about a month. i then went to the dermatoligst who told me that i have cystic acne, and i needed a prescription med that basically stops acne before it starts - just treating the breakouts, for me, was NEVER going to work for long.
i would totally recommend seeing a derm, there are so many presciption treatments out there now, i am on a great one that does not irritate my skin, ever, and it's covered by insurance so i pay WAY less than i ever did with OTC stuff.

It happened to me too after using proactive for a year . Your skin needs a break from it for a while, give it few weeks and go back on it. In the meantime you can use Neutrogena Healthy skin anti blemish/ anti wrinkle cleanser it has Salicylic acid and Alpha hydroxy in it( I GOT THIS ADVICE FROM MY DERMATOLOGIST AND IT WORKED REALLY WELL)

This happend to me many years ago. the derm. said that those beeds actually clog your pores.
I would just switch to somthing else and try again in a few months.
