Really Dumb Question
I am going to start to see an RE and have a really dumb question. I am trying to get a sense of how this process works. I understand you may see an RE a few times a week do they charge a copay every time you have a visit? The reason I ask is because my copay for a specialist is much higher than my OBGYN. I am just trying to gauge how it works. Thank you for any help.

Re: Really Dumb Question
I think it all really depends on your insurance. I'm at LI IVF which is a center of excellence as per my insurance(which I learned on here) and I don't get charged a copay. I've just gotten bills for blood work a few times which was like $18. The RE monitors your cycle and you'll need to have blood work taken a few times over the course of your cycle plus internal sono's to monitor how your follicles are growing. Good luck!

Re: Really Dumb Question
You really have to check with your insurance co.. They will have someone there who can explain everything to you. I had Blue Cross while going to RSNY and had a $40/copay each visit...approx. $300/month When DH got his current job, we had UHI/BCBS which means that if you go to a Center for Excellence you don't pay anything up to $50,000.
Both policies are Blue Cross/Blue Shield but the coverage is completely different.

Same here. When I went for bloods, etc...no copay.

Re: Really Dumb Question
at my old RE's office I paid a copay every time I went. at LI-IVF they haven't been making me pay a copay - the first 2 times I did when I went for consults but now that we're in the process of getting our IVF cycle started, they've told me to hold off on the copays and they'd send me a bill. each insurance is different...HTH
