So after reading that article about dog food, I decided to change Iggy's food.
He'll be a year old in 2 weeks, so it's time anyway.
I've had to feed him dry food mixed with canned because he won't eat the dry alone.

I did some research and decided to try Wellness for small dogs.
A guy at one store recommended Hollistic Health Extension (HHE) and gave us sample bags.
I also went to another store and bought a small bag of wellness.

I've never heard of Hollistic Health Extension, so I did some research. It was given 4 out of 6 stars on one site, while wellness was given 5 stars.
The reason it got 4 stars was that the site said it didn't state that it was Ethoxyquin free and there was a debatable grain in the ingredients(wellness small breed also had a debatable grain) . Everything else was good. The bag of HHE that I have DOES say it's free of that preservative.

Long story short, he will only eat the HHE food and not the wellness or his old food (unless I mix it with canned, which I want to get away from).

I really wanted to feed him Wellness because it's better, but I guesss I have no choice now?
I have a whole 4lb bag that he's not going to eat. $20 down the drain.

Anyone have experiences with either of these foods?
Should I try to make him eat the Wellness or buy the food he likes (I'm leaning toward this)

Thanks for reading this far, I hope all my rambling made sense Chat Icon
