One Bedroom Mommies...

I know there are a few of us here...what are you doing in terms of furniture for the baby? We're getting a crib for the bedroom and a PNP for this unidentifiable section of our apt (not a room, not a hallway...Chat Icon ) but I just saw a post on dressers/armoires and was like...hmmmm...what am I going to do about that? Any ideas yet?

We are getting a crib there is a nook in our bedroom for this - we are going to get a dresser/changing table that we can put in the closet.

PNP will be in the LR along with the other goodies

I got a crib that has a drawer underneath it to increase the amount of storage. I also bought a dresser/changing table combo unit for even more storage. You will not believe the amount of stuff people will buy particularly clothes-its insane! We are building the crib tonight, I will post pics.

pack and play will be in our bedroom. we are actually using our dining room for Chat Icon play room, we'll put the crib and dresser in there. I have to see how everything works out, but we might wind up just keeping the crib in our bedroom and leaving the dresser and everything else in the DR.

Re: One Bedroom Mommies...

the crib will be in our bedroom (we removed a couple chairs to make room).

the changing table/dresser will be in our large walk-in closet.... it's square in shape, so we emptied 1/2 of it, installed a pendant lamp and put it against the wall..... just enough room to not feel clustrophobic.........

Re: One Bedroom Mommies...

we are using the PNP for the first couple of months and we have a dresser/changing table combo in the room, thats all we can fit :( once she out grows the PNP we will move the crib in the room but im not sure it will fit! since we live with bf parents, all the rest of her things are being stored in the game room that isnt really used anymore. im hoping in the next few months we get our own place cuz this really is no way to live.

Our idea is to put a crib and changing table in our room and the PNP in our living rm. I'm not too sure what I am going to do with all the clothes yet.

How much room do you all think the clothes will take up? Aren't they tiny?

Re: One Bedroom Mommies...

Before we knew we were going to have a 2nd bedroom, we planned on putting the crib in our room and getting rid of our current entertainment center and putting a dresser in its place for the baby, like tall 5 drawer one, and putting the changing pad on our dresser

Yes but its ALOT. I am still getting clothes from people and I have a ton of stuff already. Plus I had not bought anything since I was told that people love buying clothes (none of it was on my registry.) Also its not only clothes but towels, sheets, crib matress covers, burb clothes....the list goes on and on.

Re: One Bedroom Mommies...

We live in a 2BR, but our second room is jam packed with stuff and is a guest room/office/den... We are going to have to put A LOT of stuff in storage. Space will eventually get to be a challenge since we really don't have a ton of room...

Well, I'm sure they shouldn't take up much room, but I still need a place to put them.

Re: One Bedroom Mommies...

We have 2 five drawer dressers in the room already. We are renovating the house & living in the apartment downstairs for now, so the rest of babies stuff is stored away in a spare room not being renovated yet. But we are certainly living the 1 bedroom life!!!

Right now, DH has his clothes in the closet (work clothes nicely hung, jeans & tees in one of those hanging sweater thingys) & one drawer in my dresser for his underware, socks & shorts.

The other dresser has all Logans stuff (clothes, towels, blankers, sheets ect) in it, but only what will fit him through the summer. Diapers & whatnot are on top of the dresser with changing pad, but the dresser is too tall to change him on I found. I move the pad to the bed & do the changing there.

He is sleeping a old school bassinet next to the bed & for now is only using his bouncy so that's in the Livingroom. I think he is too tiny for the swing yet anyhow.....my skinny little one would fall out of it!!!

The carseat & stroller frame are by the front door upstairs.

I would say if we truly were in a 1 bedroom apartment NOT in our house, I would need a storage unit for the rest of the stuff.
