Bottle question
This might be better off on parenting but I figured I would ask here first.
I hope to mainly breastfeed and pump so that DH can feed the baby. How many of each bottle do you think I need? I might have too many on my registry.

Re: Bottle question
I started with the 4 bottles that came with my pump. I ended up buying another 8 Medela bottles. That's what I used for fresh milk, and it gave me the opportunity to not run the dishwasher 24 hours per day.
For my frozen breastmilk, we bought another 8 bottles (random bottles). But we only bought one here and one there. It was not necessarily the bottles that DS liked or disliked, it was all about what nipples he liked and din't like. We bought all different kinds (not just what came with the bottle.) I do have to say that I didn't really establish a frozen supply until DS was about 2 months old.

Re: Bottle question
I plan on doing the same.
I just registered for 4- 4oz bottles and 4-8oz bottles just to have in case BF does not work out. Also I didn't want to register for a lot of one certain bottle incase the baby does not like it.

Re: Bottle question
For the first few weeks I used the 2oz bottles that came with the pump. DC did not need more than that at any given feeding. I then had 6 4oz bottles and 4 6 oz bottles. I increased according to what my Ped had instructed for daily ounce intake.

Re: Bottle question
Holls,
I've only nursed/pumped for the last 11.5 months. We had a bunch of the 2 oz. bottles, but looking back, those are a total waste...they outgrow them in 2-3 weeks. The 4oz. ones are worth having maybe 1-2 but I'd stick mainly w/ the 8 oz. We have maybe 8, 8 oz. bottles & then I have the little containers that came w/ the pump (& a few extras) just to pump into--or you can pump right into the regular 8 oz. bottles.
