38 weeks... and a question
and no progress from my last app't. 
I am 90% effaced and a fingertip dilated. Head is definitely lower and more engaged but no more dilation from last Tuesday. I had to have a non stress test which stressed me out  but all was well with the baby.
I don't get a growth sono at my office.. Is that abnormal? It seems like many people do...

I got a growth sono with my first son but will not get one with this PG unless the baby is measuring larger or smaller than he should be. It just depends on the doc. I'm with a different doc now.
At my 39 week appt I was the same as you and I went into labor the next morning. So you never know

i think the amount of sonos vary by dr's and the typ of insurance you have.
Some get 3 sonos, some get 2 some get 1.

I think it depends on the doctor. It's all very weird to me too.
My SIL didn't have one done and neither did my friend. However, i'm having one next week (we all go to the same group too). I don't know why i'm having one, but i'm not going to question it because i can't wait to see the little  .

my doctor only does growth sono if the baby is measuring too big or too small. Not everyone gets them

I hope that doesn't mean they think my baby is too big!!!!   They didn't mention anything to me about it.

I didn't get a growth sono until I was a week overdue.
They are not accurate anyway. They told me 3 days before DS was born that he would be 7 lbs 9 oz at birth and he was actually 9 lbs!

honestly, dilation really means nothing...you can walk around at 3cm for weeks, or you can go to the dr not dilated that morning, and then go into labor that night!!! I know everyone likes to hear progress (I was like that too, and am sure I will be that way again) but in reality, it doesnt mean much

i had a growth sono at 38w but im not getting an internal until 39w. i think all drs do it different
