Those of you who have used Mutt Manners
I know they use a "tap" collar. Not shock
But do you get to keep that collar??
Were you happy with the training?
Do you go to the lifetime classes?
We have an evaluation july 7th for Maverick

Sorry, I didn't use Mutt Manners, but I just wanted to say I adore your Brittany. We have one as well, and are looking to adopt a second. They are the sweetest.
We went to a PetSmart class, and it worked fairly well. It was more about training me to train him, and they focus solely on positive reinforcement training.
Good luck!

I've used mutt manners and I highly recommend them. they are life time group class along with individual class. You get to keep the collar. You are constantly learning how to be better owner. Everyone affilated with the company will love your dog and wants you to have a great relationship with your dog.
About how the collar itself, what is your understanding of "tap", because the collar has two functions vibration and shock. During the eval they well explain

I used them and it is a shock collar. We had to pay 200 to keep it. I was not happy with the training as they did not give my dog all of the training they promise to give and they had a training "apprentice" working with him. He also came home with kennel cough, due to their secretary and webiate not being speciic about bordatella. The website states bordatella is needed now because I complained. We were new dog owners, we never heard of it and our vet never gave it to him automatically. They told us theyd get him the vaccine but he got kennel cough because the vaccine had no time to get in his system. And once we picke dhim up they never one called us again. They tell you they give you followup lessons at home, we called and complained and only got 1. Not happy with them.

Re: Those of you who have used Mutt Manners
We had great experiences with them. Scout got individual lessons and he was about 6months old at the time. He continued with group class but since we had the baby he doesn't get to go very often.
I thought their trainers (Chris and Frank) were both great, and everyone was wonderful to work with. We boarded Scout with them recently for the first time and he seemed to be feeling great after his time with them.

You're lucky. I think Frank and Chris are the better trainers there, and my dog got trained solely by an apprentice. Not saying the kid doesn't know what he is doing, and he is a nice kid, but I have a big stubborn dog, and I felt like I shouldnt have to pay $1500 to help them train their apprentices. I am all up for everyone learning and starting somewhere, but one of the trainers should have trained my dog along with the apprentice. Just one of my peeves about that place.

1500!?!?!?!?!? That was alot! I know I did not get that price. Did you send the dog away for a 2 week program or go with the one on one training??

Yes, unfortunately we sent him in for the 2-week board & train. I argued with DH over is for a month before we sent him in. I cried for 2 weeks. I wish we had done the one on one. We still use the collar.

Yes, you keep the collar. At first I wasnt a fan of it, but it really works well. As soon as your dog gets the hang of how the collar works and starts to obey the commands, you tap you use shouldnt be any higher than a slight vibration.
I really liked them. I enjoy the lifetime classes, they are alot of fun and excellent practice for the dog. I wuld def recommend using them

Re: Those of you who have used Mutt Manners
We used Mutt Manners several years ago, and were EXTREMELY happy with the training they gave to our dog. (and with us!) We used the electric collar that they gave us (so yes, you get to keep it) we have used it on all three of our dogs since. (its a lifesaver!) We used to go to the training classes on the weekends, but we have since moved OOS.
Its totally worth the money...what you and your dog get out of the training is priceless!

Re: Those of you who have used Mutt Manners
We did the one-on-one at home. I put the collar on Scout when I have him off leash in the park, but honestly I don't even use it. I say "tap tap" if he doesn't listen and that's all he needs to hear!
