is anyone here into dollhouses?

I've always been in love with miniatures.
I have my dollhouse from childhood, it was fully decorated & furnished but needs some repairs and I got a brand new dollhouse kit on freecycle today.
I'm planning on making them my winter craft project. Has anyone finished a dollhouse? Do you have pics?

I would be interested in this too if anyone has done it. I want to make one for DD when she gets a little older.

Re: is anyone here into dollhouses?

I bought one that was semi-done and I put it together and painted it for DD. I LOVE it more than she does! I really set it up for her and I hope it's something that when she gets a little older, her and I can work on more together (she's only 22 months now) I put wallpaper on and carpeting. It's beautiful!

Here is the site to where I got it

I haven't from start to finish but I did finish mine off when I was in high school. I would love to make one start to finish though.

I had one similar to this as a kid I wish I still had it. I will definitely be building one with my daughter when she is older. I just won't destroy it like my mother did when she was mad at me.Chat Icon

My dad built me one when I was a kid. It was awesome! It had carpeting, wallpaper and even working lights! I really hope to have a little girl someday so she can enjoy it like I did Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: is anyone here into dollhouses?

I have a HUGE one. It's sitting in my basement now and in need of major renovations Chat Icon Chat Icon

My DH and I had these grand plans to put tile on the roof, replace the carpet etc..

I think if we have a daughter I will def. want to make it nice again for her. I will try to get a pic of it. I have very many happy memories from it!

Re: is anyone here into dollhouses?

here's the pics of my "bridal shop" progress
External Image

I ordered a bunch of stuff that didn't come yet so I just put stuff I had in with the bride mannequin for the pics

I found this woman that makes & donates dollhouses for sick children through a hospital near where she lives. I'm trying to find a hospital here that will accept donations so I can make small houses for little girls that want them. I'll update when I find out more.

What a fantastic thing to do! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The dollhouse Im restoring was a handmade house that my parents had a neighbor build. I should post some progress pics once I start!
