Opions-May be OFFENSIVE TO SOME
My friend has a theory called "The pussification of America" Now I know the words are kind of harsh- but it means no one wants to deal with anything and everything HAS to be so politically correct. A few examples: the big issues brought on the past few Christmases about saying Christmas , Howard Stern being fined for indecency..etc. Discuss if you like!

You know, I was jsut thinking about this earlier...everything's become so PC that America is basically a parody of itself. It really annoys me!

I agree- it doesn't bother me, but it is getting out of hand.
I'm Jewish- but I don't care if the tree in Rockerfeller Center is called a Christmas tree. Its just absurd to call it a Holiday tree.
But think about why it started. Certain phrases and thinking were so engrained in our culture, despite their overtly racist, sexist, etc... overchores.
Look at your friends comment- the "pussification" of America- think about it.

All I could do was laugh this year when mailing out my bankers 900 holiday cards...the selection process of the card, the wording in it, down to the seal....to me it is silly. If someone is wishing you a happy kwanza, merry christmas, happy wintertime, etc..just say thanks. I don't see what the big deal is. I think in my sea of Christmas cards, if I got something different it would be nice.
As far as howard...it is a radio show. He is not our Commander in Chief, he is a radio personality. not interested, turn it off.

well...see that is where i would disagree..
There are certain things that are in fact inappropriate...
And that the everyday use of it makes people think it is actually appropriate, when in fact it is not!

Umm... That's not what I meant. The phrase is basically saying that Americans have become weaklings and babies about everything so we have to be PC
pussification (weak) = P ussy = female genetalia = women
The statement makes the inherent assumption that women are weak. That was my point...
