Swollen Ankles&Feet?
How bad is it if you have this? I know that it is common during pregnancy but my skin is very tight and my feet and ankles are like elephants! I go to DR. tomorrow, but when is it something to worry about? I am scared that they put people on bedrest and I need to work as long as possible so I can have all my vacation time after the baby. Anyone?

I have it and it gets to the point I cant stand stright or it feels like my skin is ripping and I cant move my toes !!! They told me its the way the baby is leaning and to try and elevate it at night by shoving a blanket under my mattress !!

Re: Swollen Ankles&Feet?
I started to experience swelling at 27 weeks. They told me to just elevate my feet higher than my heart and lay on my left side.
Which definitely helps reduce swelling. They didn't put me on strict bedrest until 34 weeks due to pregnancy induced hypertension (high blood pressure) and fear of it turning into pre-eclempsia.
Best thing you can do is try to keep the swelling down by elevating and laying on your left side. It really helps!

Re: Swollen Ankles&Feet?
I get them .. more last week than any other time. I would do anything to make it stop! It hurt and felt so tight on my left ankle.
Here’s what I changed: Drank even MORE water Got more potassium in me (more OJ and bananas, etc) At work, try to get in a least a total of an hour’s time with my feet about 9inches above the ground. (I put my feet up on an empty copy paper box) Had my hubby massage my ankles when I got home to get blood moving Kept my ankles elevated for at LEAST an hour each night Once I got home I really tried hard to reduce walking, lifting, bending over Slept on my left side Slept with some bunched up blankets to elevate my ankles a little more than normal.
So far.. its been a LOT better
Good Luck!

Re: Swollen Ankles&Feet?
Mine are horrible - absolutely horrible. I try to keep my salt down and drink as much water as possible. My feet are elevated when they can be and I stay where it is cool.
