First ?

How did you stand it from the time you found out until you went for your first internal- where they hear/see the heartbeat.

I just want to hear it already!

I don't go until July 8

Re: First ?

i know , it feels like time goes so slow.

I was 6w6d for my first sono when we saw the heartbeat. I did not get to hear it until the ultrascreen at 12 weeks.

Re: First ?

It was really anxious. Our first sono just showed the sac. We had to go back 2 weeks later to see the heartbeat. We didn't hear it until the ultrascreen.

Re: First ?

The time between appointments feels like such a long time! I feel the same way and continue to, I can't wait for each appointment every month to hear/see the baby!!!

Re: First ?

We went nuts.. We couldn't wait to hear and see the babies... DH and I kept our selves busy by me peeing on a stick twice a day... which seemed to smooth over some of the anxiety of the wait Chat Icon

Oh and we rented a fetal doppler so we could check on them ourselves.

Re: First ?

it was almost unbearable! i was lucky that i got to have a sono at 5W5D but that was b/c the dr wanted to make sure it wasn't ectopic Chat Icon all i saw was the little bean...

but when i saw the HB at 8 weeks it was sooooo worth the wait!!

once you are out of the first tri, and especially after 20 weeks, time will fly - trust me.

start browsing BRU, BBB and target online - that's how i kept occupied Chat Icon

Ha!!! I just FM'd because I was like 'did I miss it'

Ang - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Although it was long ago now I remember how nervous I was before that first appt...and even more nervous when they went to look for the heartbeat...it was that very moment that I gave up caring about the sex or if the baby would have DH's eyes...and as the tech the started looking I remember just willing the screen to show the heartbeat. It was a wonderful moment and once it happened I could honestly say well worth the wait. Chat Icon

*shrug* I just get through all the waiting realizing that this technology wasn't always around and I'm lucky to have it. Women used to just plain WAIT for the baby. That must have been maddening. Now I almost feel like we know too much, the more we know the more we worry. Chat Icon

For me ignorance is blissChat Icon

Just hang in there and best of luck to you!

Re: First ?

Man, it was tough. My doc didn't want to see me until I was at least 8 weeks and then when she had an opening I was 8 weeks, 6 days. Chat Icon I found out I was pregnant on 3/11 and didn't go to the doc until 4/14. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Try to stay busy. Easier said than done, I know. I tried not to stress too much about every cramp and stretch...also easier said than done. But when you finally get in there, it is so worth it. It finally is "real" and a true miracle to see Chat Icon for the first time. Make lots of plans with friends and family between now and then!

Here's to a speedy 3 weeks! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
