How have all my fellow drinker's been adjusting??
I was a pretty big drinker before my pregnancy. I will admit the first few weeks weren't that difficult due to my aversions/bloat. Up until the 20th week, I had pangs every now and again but nothing too outrageous.
Now with the stress of this pregnancy, I have been feeling more of the urge.
A few times I have tried O'Douds (so-so), St. Pauls ( a little better) and Arielle non alchoholic wine (decent).
I do admit that even the few times I have had a non-alcoholic drink I am only doing one glass or bottle. I have become a fake beer lightweight.
This makes me wonder too how my drinking habits will change after the baby, I might enjoy a cocktail every now and again but I think my heavy drinking days are over. The mommy friends I have just laught and say I shouldn't talk so quickly, mommyhood can indeed drive one to drink even more.

Re: How have all my fellow drinker's been adjusting??
I was a pretty big drinker before getting pregnant. Strangely enough, I haven't missed it at all. A nice lemonade sounds more appealing than a glass of wine, sangria, margarita...all things I CRAVED before getting pregnant. I was actually wondering if my drinking ways have been permanently changed as wel. I guess time will tell...

Same here! I keep telling my husband that I think my partying days are over. I guess time will tell but I think I'll be far too busy for awhile to enjoy the weekends the way I used to..happily buzzed.

Re: How have all my fellow drinker's been adjusting??
I already told DH that I want to be drinking chilled chardonnay as I pass the placenta
then I'll wash that down with some sangria
(along with a pile of unpasteurized cheeses and exotic hams that can't be heated before eating... heck, maybe even some steak tartare!)
but I digress......

Re: How have all my fellow drinker's been adjusting??
I'm a social drinker, so the hardest part about not drinking, is that everyone is onto me! I'm only 7 weeks, so it's too early to actually reveal, or miss a drink. At this point, I'm so elated over the reason that I'm not drinking, that it is outweighing the need!

Re: How have all my fellow drinker's been adjusting??
I drank a lot before pregnancy. Now that I have had the baby I have a drink or two most nights. I drink more frequently than before, but less amounts.

Re: How have all my fellow drinker's been adjusting??
Its odd- I miss it but really don't desire it if that makes sense. My last pregnancy I got hardburn so bad, that even looking at wine make me burp.
But I have to say after a disasterous day on Friday at work, I really wanted a drink so bad. More for the relaxation effects, than anything else.
