UGH!!!!!!

So dear old MIL is at it again. I think she's determined to put me in a looney bin!

She informed me that she has ordered CHRSITIAN DIOR AND ARMANI baby bottles from overseas for our . Ummm... ok. Thought it was kinda cool, and casually said to her ' Wow, thanks, i'll put them on her dresser when we get the furniture in, it will look so cute in her room!'. She proceeds to question why I would let them sit and not use them.

Ok 1- I like designer things, but in no way with all this stuff going on about the BPA am I going to use bottles that have NOTHING backing them except a clothing and handbag designer! 2- i'm not showy like that at all. I feel like people would look at me like 'Who the hell does she think she is??!!??' 3- I feel like once the baby gets used to one kind of bottle, you should stick with it as to not mess with their comfort and stuff.

Am I out of my mind here? Picture me sitting on a bench somewhere (mind you I live in Hickville, USA - KANSAS right now) feeding our with a Dior baby bottle?! I'd prob get shot by one of these country bumpkins down here!

She just doesn't get it! I know its the thought that counts, but, correct me if i'm wrong here, but i'm pretty sure i'm still the mommy and should be making those choices with DH... I said thank you, and really do think its cool to have, but not to use, I just dont trust them. Needless to say.. she's mad at me again Can't win if I try!

Ok, don't scream, but I really don't think what your MIL did was that bad. Please, I've heard of MIL's really stepping on Mom's toes, and this is not the case.

By no means is she stepping on your toes. Whether you use them or not, just say thank you and move on. If she wants to waste money on expensive bottles, let her. Use them, nobody is going to judge you. You're reading way too much into this.

Oh no I totally agree. I thought it was really nice of her.. but she yelled at me when I said I was going to put them on display instead of using them.

Open mouth insert foot! Gosh, I should have just said 'GREAT!' and hung up. Then she wouldn't have had time to yell at me!!!

That is too funny! I actually thought they were for Show and not actual use. She'll get over it. Don't worry about your MIL getting mad, just think of your pregnancy!

just say you tried them and she didnt take to them...or use them for water when shes older!

HA! I thought they were just for show and she forwarded me the link where it says what ages the bottles are appropriate for! UNREAL!!
