Another godparent question

When did you/do you plan to ask your baby's godparents? Do you plan to do it in any special way?

Re: Another godparent question

I was just thinking about this today...

I am going to wait until after he/she is born.

I was thinking of maybe getting some paper and crayons, and having the baby hold the crayon w/me, and write in children's writing:

Dear so and so,

Will you please be my Godmother/Godfather?

Love always,

Baby's name

I didn't do anything special since they pretty much already knew. We officially told them pretty early on.

Re: Another godparent question

We weren't going to wait until after the birth, but wanted to do it in person. So, we asked around the time of my baby shower since both were in town. My step-sister cried and cried, she was so happy!

The funniest was when DH asked his brother to be Godfather, but just turning to him in the middle of a conversation and saying, "So, wanna be Godfather?". I died laughing! After saying yes, BIL reminded DH that that was basically how he told him we were engaged ("So, we're gonna get married"). That's my DH for you...not a man of many words!

My sister will be the god mother. I haven't officially asked her but she just knows that she will be.
