I have one week and need a strategy!

Alright girls, I need your help. I have my level II next Tuesday and I'm dying to find out what we are having, and as I've posted before, DH definitely does not want to find out. We are both so adamant on it and are deadlocked. He says we can find out with all of our other kids (god willing) and this is a compromise because he has never wanted to find out with any of them. But I feel I only get to have a first baby one time and I'm sad that I won't be able to find out.

On the other hand, my DH asks for very little and I feel bad fighting him on this but I have always imagined knowing and being able to plan accordingly and bond with the baby knowing what he/she really was. Chat Icon

Any thoughts on how I can change his mind and actually make him happy about finding out?? How do we get out of this deadlock??

I should also mention we are battling over names as well...and thought only having to focus on either Chat Icon or Chat Icon would make things easier too.

As I said on the other thread about this...have the tech write it down and seal it.

the way DH and I see it, how many times in our life will we await the arrival of a baby, go through labor and delivery and get to hear, "It's a ___"! Plus, DH then gets to go announce it to everyone! Once you know you can't go back. I also didn't mind knowing b/c we got everything in gender neutral, so we could use it with Baby #2 one day (if it lasts)!

If neither of you are willing to give in, have the tech write it down on a piece of paper. That way, you can find out and he'll still be surprised. It may be difficult to keep it from him, but at least you both get what you want. Chat Icon

Your body, your decision Chat Icon

Serioulsy though, I would do the write it down thing if he agrees to it. I am a need to know kind of girl so I know how you feel. Although, we weren't able to find out at our first sono cause of the position so it might not even be an issue!!

My sister found out with all 3 of her kids and kept it from her DH. After her u/s usually you will have an appointment with your doctor. She then asked her doctor the gender of the children. DH didn't go into the room with her for her doctors appointments...so it was easier for her to ask there.

May be just tell the tech beforehand (without DH knowing) that you want him/her to tell your doctor the gender.
