Anyone unsure about having another child?

I am so torn about this. I am so fortunate to have a healthy son and daughter. I am 60/40 leaning toward no more kids, but I don't want to regret this decision later on. DH would be fine either way, actually he is probably 60/40 leaning toward having 1 more.....

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

Me! I want a 3rd, but right now we have the one on one advantage with the kids and me and my DH, and each kid has their own room, if we had a 3rd they'd have to share a room....We're both torn about it, leaning more towards not having another baby, but that makes me kinda sad knowing we are doneChat Icon

Me. WHile I think we are done now that we have a boy and a girl on the way, I often say we are done. But I know that I may change my mind, so I really have to say never say never right now.

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

Derek says he's happy with the 2 we have. Im THRILLED and blessed to have the 2 healthy babies that we do have but a HUGE piece of me wants #3 and #4 but the thought of getting huge, another C-section (just surgery in general) and sleepless nights is VERY unappealing to me right now. #3 is not out of the question. I have about 9 months to decideChat Icon

If I was younger I would consider having another baby, but realistically speaking I think we are doneChat Icon

but that is not old at all nowadays to have a child. Women are waiting to get married and have children. I guess I know what you mean, you'd have to try within the next couple of years or so, but there's really not a huge rush!! (BTW...you don't look anywhere near 37Chat Icon )

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

ME!! While part of us wants our boy since we now have our daughter, I often wonder if we can handle it. We touched the subject the other night and I'm sure we'll change our minds when Alyson is older and out of diapers.

I figure that DH Will want #2 when she starts responding and interacting more with us and we can actually PLAY with her.

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

I am sooo done-lol! I have a dd and ds and they are hand-fuls. I also work fulltime so I have my plate full. I would like to have a vacation sometime within the next 20 years alone with my dh so we are not having any more kids-lol!

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

Baby #2 is almost out..lol.. and I had this conversation with DH the other day. I LOVE being a mommy.. but sleepless nights are coming my way again, and all the problems with my back... Realistically I don't think baby#3 would be the best decision for us.. But part of me still wants a larger family.. Chat Icon

Good Luck with your decision!

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

See I'm the opposite on the boy-girl thing. I wanted sisters or brothers, rather than brother-sister. Of course, I'm glad I have both. My theory is that sisters or brothers are closer than sister-brother. And if it's sister-brother and the girl is younger (as in my case), you have this hero worship thing. The only way to counter it is to have a third to balance it out.

In my mind, I'm done. In my heart, I'm not.

Two kids and working full-time hasn't been that hard for me. As for taking care of them I was told "the only difference going from 2 to 3 is your defense. With two, you're man-to-man. With three, you go zone guarding the bathroom & kitchen for safety." Now guess the sex of the person that told me that?Chat Icon

I am having such a difficult pregnancy so this is something that hopefully we can plan for next time because being on bedrest for the last 4 motnhs is very difficult I could not imagine trying to run after a toddler and be on bedrest...

Re: Anyone unsure about having another child?

I definitely want another child. I'm just unsure about when to start trying for another. DH and I want our children to be close in age, but we're not exactly ready to try again right now.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm thrilled to have my 2 boys, 2 years apart. Chat Icon Especially if we're done having kids. There are days where I'm sure we're done, but then of course there are days where I say I'd love a 3rd. Chat Icon

My baby is only 5 months so time will tell. Chat Icon
