Pet Insurance
Ive had VPI pet insurance for my dog now for the past 3 years and he is 4 now. I've never had to use it in the 3 years much like car insurance I guess. Im up for renewal and its 40 bucks a month. Is it worth it to continue it? I feel like im wasting money..but i guess its not wasting b/c its there "just in case" much like our car insurance, our health insurance and if we do it for our kids, why not our pets.. im just not sure..

Re: Pet Insurance
seems a little higher than what I pay. I use embrace pet insurance. I think I paid $350 for a whole year for a puppy and a 2 yr old dog. But i can't remember what my deductible is, maybe $500. I don't think it's a waste, who knows when you'll need it. I used mine for the 2 yr old dog and got some money back.

Re: Pet Insurance
Totally not a waste. It pays for little things, like heart worm tests, and when they get sick.
If you keep it and they god forbid gets cancer, they will help pay for the treatements.
Would you cancel insurance for your children? My dog is like my child and I could never cancel the insurance for him.

Re: Pet Insurance
We have it for 2 of our cats. One of them was really sick when she was young and was in the hospital for a entire month. Lucky for us, her insurance kicked in 2 weeks before and we got back thousands. We have used it for emergency situations for the other cat also.
I say keep it because you never know. Plus, if you cancel then want to renew later, if soemthing happens when you don't have insurance, they will not cover pre-existing conditions.
