Re: The DH has questions

Hi! No, you are still the DH... Chat Icon The only thing that made me sleep better was a Snoogle. Snoogle My DH bought it for me from BRU. Yes, her boobs will probably get bigger- at least mine did... about 4 sizes! Chat Icon Other than that- there is not much more you can do. Give her ice cream whenever she wants it and know that her crying and mood swings are all hormone related!! Congrats Baby Daddy! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon congrats BD Chat Icon

i can't really give any good advice, my boobs KILLED me for weeks, except i agree with gabi, the snoogle or a pregnancy body pillow is the best thing right now, because it will help her sleep on her side and not smush her boobs when she sleeps on her stomach.

i actually had a talk with my DH about how i had no control over my emotions when preggo, he has been amazing so far. make sure you NEVER criticize what she eats!! you might want to check out the book "pregnancy sucks for men" - my DH loved it.

good luck

Re: The DH has questions

Either get your DW a snoogle, or a pillow for between her legs.

If she is uncomfortable in the bed with you, you should go sleep on the couch and let her have the whole bed to herself.

When she gets any kind of cravings, which often happens at night, you should spring right up and get whatever she needs...even if it is a 45 minute drive away.

If she gets mood swings etc, let her blame it on you, it will make her feel better.

Lastly, tell her she looks beautiful on a constant basis and never tell her that her butt is growing at the same rate her belly is.

Chat Icon Congrats Daddy!

Re: The DH has questions

The snoogle is a godsend!! Definatelly try getting her one of those. Also, have you offered a backrub or footrub or even a leg rub? Those are nice!! Personally, I am uncomfortable in the bed as well, so I sleep on the couch most of the timeChat Icon . Just be there and be supportive and a canister of ice cream every now and again couldnt hurt eitherChat Icon
Congrats to you as well, dad!! Good jobChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: The DH has questions

I have been having A LOT of trouble sleeping.. I am very newly pregnant and if I don't get out of this funk, I don't know what I am going to do.

I had asked my doc's office what I could take for allergies, since that has been bothering me as well-- and they said Bendryl was ok--- but it knocks you out.

So, last night I thought-- if Benadryl is safe, AND it makes you sleepy-- why not try to take one at night to help me sleep? So, I took 1 and I did sleep better last night-- still not great, but I am not a great sleeper anyway.

I wouldn't do it every night, but maybe when the lack of sleep really starts to catch up with you.

I know, I am a bad preggo already. Chat Icon

Re: The DH has questions

Why don't you try taking long walks with her at night? It will give you bonding time, tire her out, and it is good excersize without overdoing it. And the weather is nice enough now.

First off Chat Icon to "BD"
wasn't BD what got you here to begin with? Chat Icon

Secondly I agree with this:

I never had an issue with sleeping (yet) and I think its because I have tons of walking to and from work and stairs included!!! Then one Sunday, we did nothing, woke up and did nothing. We didn't leave the house and I didn't even get out of my jammies and I could NOT fall asleep that day to save my life!

So walking helps me stay active and I'm usually zonked by 10 if not 11pm.

Good Luck

Oh and yeah, we are bad about passing along cravings.. don't ask why all of a sudden she needs a peanut butter cup sundae or some other treat, just go with the flow.... Chat Icon

Dave!!!!!!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

You are the official BD Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I didn't want to spend the $$ on a Snoogle so I just use a body pillow which is GREAT!!

Remember, it's the job of the BD to do EVERYTHING she asks Chat Icon

Re: The DH has questions

get a snoogle...

frankly, we have tons of pillows, so I sleep with 5 down pillows.... one for the boobs, one for the belly, one for the head and 2 to support the legs. (It's more comfy to sleep on your side, so the leg that is 'up' feels better when the knee is parallel to the hip, (instead of resting lower than the hip).

Re: The DH has questions

yeah, I agree...BD is probably what got the two of you PG! Chat Icon

The first trimester is rough for most in one way or another. I use the Boppy Pregnancy Pillow and it has helped me tremendously, but I found it most helpful from the middle of my second trimester on. I was so exhausted during the first 10 weeks, I couldn't imagine not sleeping! The hormones are crazy during pregnancy!

It's so nice to hear a concerned DH coming on here for advice to help his DW! My DH is fabulous and has been great about picking things up off the floor or helping me with things that are near the ground (I'm 38 weeks now) and taking the initiative to get things done, even when I went into crazy nesting phase. He never complains either (but he has gotten plenty of time to go mountain biking with the guys, play on his volleyball team, surf, and go to baseball games)...he deserves it!

Re: The DH has questions

Buy her a sleep number bed. I asked my DH for one and he said no, but you may be more sympathetic than he is and SOMEONE should have one!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

If that doesnt work, buy her jewelry. That wont help her sleep better, but she will be so focused on the baubles that she wont complain about sleeping. Mind you, I haven't gotten mine yet.
