How windy is too windy to go to the beach?

How windy is too windy to go to the beach?
I want to try to get to the beach on Thursday, but weather.com says it will be 12MPH winds...is that too windy?

Depends on what you want to do. Windsurfing, or flying a kite, sounds great. If you want to play poker on a towel, it's probably not a good idea.
Also depends on which beach, and which direction the wind is blowing. If you are behind a building, sand dune, boardwalk, etc, you may not even notice the wind.
