DH is a prom chaperone tonite
I can't wait to hear the stories when he gets home...
he teaches at a large NYC HS - i think there are 1000+ kids going.
I say 700 of them are drunk

Oh, BTDT.
Everyone thinks you are going to a party but it really is WORK... constant security.
Last time I was class advisor I didn't sleep for days and then had to be up for over 24 hours... I had to chaperone the after hours sunrise cruise around Manhattan with the principal.
I hope he doesn't have to hold anyone's head over the porcelain god tonight and/or have to call their parents... oh, good times, good times
It is really stressful for the adults.

You know what is funny....I love chaperoning prom! I have been a senior advisory for 13 years and have gone to 12 proms! I teach in a smaller NYC DOE school and we have never had a problem! We are really straight up with the students and tell them that the party can start after they leave us!
From what I have witnessed, they are pretty well behaved. Some crazy dancing that is way to sexual for me, but hey, at least no drugs/alcohol!
