I am not *officially* here yet...
So, for those who don't venture over to TTC, I am a regular poster in hiding. I got my BFP on Wednesday, and had a blood test yesterday-- so far so good, but I am still a little nervous as I have had problems in the past.
I am still waiting for a second blood test, to be done Tuesday, to make sure that all is good, then I will officially join you girls. But, I have a question...
Now what??
Besides of course the obvious. Anything special I should be doing, or avoiding? Or is it too early to really worry about that and just wait for next steps from my doctor?

Congratulations! There's not much to do other than stop using alcohol and cigarettes, if you smoke. Maybe buy yourself a good pregnancy book. My fave is "Your Pregnancy Week by Week,"

Re: I am not *officially* here yet...
to you! I hope to see you officially here very soon!
DH and I decided I should act pregnant during the 2WW... so I completely avoided the following: medications alcohol caffiene artificial sweeteners rare meat processed meat with nitrates/nitrites unpasteurized milk products soft-ripened cheeses (blue, brie...) coldcuts
(the last 3 are ok if served piping hot)
I also switched to organic bacon and pre-packaged foods, in order to avoid odd food additives...
hope this helps and good luck!

Congratulations! You could start taking a prenatal vitamin. I take the Target brand prenatal.

Re: I am not *officially* here yet...
Thanks--here is what I am already doing... and I have some questions.
- I take a pre-natal and an Omega Fatty Acid supplement
- No booze or smoking obviously
- I don't eat meat, so that's not a problem
- I am pretty much vegan at home, so pastuerized cheese/milk is not a problem either-- except for maybe when I go out to eat-- but it's really only soft cheeses right?
- What's the deal with artificial sweetner? I am already trying to limit my intake of Splenda and aspartame-- and I switched to a natural sweetner called Stevia which is a plant extract. Although I have noticed that some foods contain one or the other-- is it ok in moderation?
- I usually drink one cup of organic tea in the morning-- is it ok to still do that, or should I switch to decaf?
- Lastly, I can still continue to exercise normally right? The only real limitations come in the second trimester?
- Oh, and can I take a tylenol if i need it? I thought that was safe for pregnancy.

Re: I am not *officially* here yet...
No aspartame, I would switch to decaf tea, excersize is fine, jsut nothing too strenuous, and I would avoid any situps or anything like that, because a friend of mine did it thinking she would keep her bellly firm and all her muscles ripped later on from the baby . Tylenol is also safe - just not too much! Congrats!!!
