Help please....not really pg related
On Monday, my upper lip started to hurt. I didn't see anything on it, but it was really bothering me. On Tuesday I woke up and I had what looked like a cold sore, and my lip was a tiny bit swollen. I knew it wasn't a cold sore though, because I don't get them, and my husband does, and when he saw it he said that it definitely is NOT a cold sore. SO I just thought maybe I got bit by something and it would go away. Yesterday, I woke up and my lip was super swollen. This morning I woke up and now the swelling is spreading to the inside part of my lip! My regular doctor can't take me for another 2 weeks, do you think I should go to Emergency?? I am worried if it is an infection the baby could be affected....what do you ladies think?

Your regular dr can't see you for 2 weeks? That is insane. To be safe it can't hurt to go to the ER, like you said you could have an infection.

I would go to a walk in doctor... don't go to the ER! You will be there for hours.

Did you tell your regular doctor its an emergency and that you are pregnant??
They should be nice enough and let you come in!!

Go to a place like First Med or This Place . You may have to wait a bit to be seen but nothing like the ER! Hope you feel better!

On your lip? I would almost recommend going straight to a dermatologist.... sounds like something skin/membrane-ish. I think a GP wouldn't be as knowledgable about that situation......
IF you don't have a derm, or you need to go to your GP for a referal, definitely call back your Dr and tell them how ominous this wierd thing is, remind them that your pregnant, and say 2 weeks from now, your lip likely will have fallen off! you need an emergency appt.
if they refuse, find a new Dr asap.

2 weeks thats rediculous, I say try to get in with a derm or another internist just to have it looked at! They should be squeezing you in as an emergency appt. I would definitely switch offices
I used to work for a group of great doctors and am still friendly with them, FM if you want their info, they are open on Thursdays til 8pm

Def find a doc to go to, if it is an infection, you need to see someone. Just walk in the dr - you'd be suprised they'll probably let you see someone
