They were practicing over my house last night too!!!! South shore 
Every year I cheap out and go to Norman J Levy park and watch them for free..this year DH is actually off and I love watching those planes so we are paying on Sunday to go see, should be a nice day too!! Work on the tan!

My DH took my 4 & 5 year old today to see the practice show and they loved it!! I mean really loved it, they were talking about it over and over.

we went 2 years ago and Ryan loved it. No idea it was this weekend. maybe we'll go.
last year there was a schedule of who was flying when. Does anyone have it?
I can only go for the end on Saturday or beginning on Sunday.

Do you sit on the beach or in the Jones Beach Theater parking lot? Also how early would you have to go to get a spot? I've never been there and I have heard it gets crazy.

On the beach. I would get there by at least 9/9:30am as it gets packed.

Don't think there is a schedule until you get there that day.
I wish I could go but my dh has to work that night and he thinks it will be too much to sit in the sun all day and then go to work.

thye usually save the best for last right? DS has soccer so I am hoping to ride out that after and catch the last hour, even if its from the lot.

I was on 110 in front of Republic Airport and pulled over, everyone was sitting outside of their cars. The Blue Angels passed over at 1:15 to fly out and back again around 2:30 it was incredible. Really cool to see them land and do a fly by..can't wait for tomorrow!
Any suggestions for the people who went today??? WHAT TIME DID YOU GET THERE????

I was on 110 in front of Republic Airport and pulled over, everyone was sitting outside of their cars. The Blue Angels passed over at 1:15 to fly out and back again around 2:30 it was incredible. Really cool to see them land and do a fly by..can't wait for tomorrow!

It was very crowded, but we had a nice spot on the beach. We started inching our way out as the Blue Angels were on and watched it from closer to the parking lot. Show was amazing and perfect weather! Tomorrow is supposed to be great as well, enjoy!!

We went to Applebee's (on 110) for lunch today and the kids got to see them practicing. Both of my kids cried it was too loud
It was really cool to see though.

we went at 1:00 just to catch the end. WE watched from the side of the road, but you could barely even park there, we were on the side about a mile past the circle.
Tip for anyone going late tomorrow.....
dont pay for parking- there wont be any. I wasted $8.00, never even thought about it until we were leaving.

We went today, and had such a nice time...what a great beach day! Not too hot and not too chilly. The kids had a blast, and DH and I loved the airshow. DEFINITELY bring ear plugs for the kiddies, as it is loud. I have seen the Blue Angels in San Francisco, too...it was really great to see them over Long Island. They are Amazing!
We got there (via Ocean Parkway) around 11am, and were able to get parking in Field 5, no problem. It was about a ten minute walk to the sand and we were right at show center. Lots of fun!
We did pack our lunch, snacks and drinks tho...and that saved us a great deal of money. The concessions were PACKED and over-priced, so not worth it. If we had had to buy lunch, we would have missed half the show, just standing on line waiting. Glad we were smarter than that!
We also planned not to leave until well after the finale. Definitely the way to go! The mad rush to leave right at the end was ridiculous! We waited an hour, and got out of there in a breeze...plus, the kids had more fun digging a giant hole on the beach.

We decided just to park on Ocean Pkwy. and walked down to a beach and saw about an hours worth of the show-it was GREAT and glad we didn't decide to go the Jones Beach as my dh would have been exhausted to go to work tonight.
