Has anyone noticed
Out of nowhere I have been seeing these huge white cotton cocoon looking things on trees? They look too big to be a caterpillar cocoon. I wonder what is in them?
If you havent noticed, look at the trees when driving, they are all over. Mostly in bare spots on the tree branches, where there are no leaves.

I've seen them. I thought maybe they were bat nests or mosquito nests.

They are gypsy moths  Those suckers EAT alll the leaves off the trees and are DISGUSTING! We just bought spray for them because we live in the woods and have a huge problem every year with them because they eat so much of the leaves they end up killing the trees.

either way.. they are all DISGUSTING.. we have cankerworms out here too that don't have nests.. they lay eggs in trees and then come out in the late spring and eat the leaves too.. they are all trouble because they eat SO many leaves
