Its outta control...!!!
My moms like whole side of them family is moving to N.Carolina, and having houses built...
From the way things look....we (both me, my son, hub, and parents) will be following w/in the next 2 yrs...
The houses are def. cheaper... but its the taxes that makes it all worth it...
Some things we looked at online were 1200/year...A friend of mine pays 12,000/year here...thats insane!

Stacy- sorry you are having a hard time with it. Are you guys still going to visit down there?
I am waiting so patiently for my sisters' letters back for UNC. One wants to transfer from Buffalo to Charlotte, the other applied to Ashville. That is making it so much better for me. Is there any chance that some of your fam will uproot once they see your new living situation? That is what I am praying my parents will do.

Keep in mind how far Charlotte is from the beach - I could never live that far inland, but I guess if my entire family went I'd have to consider it.
The schools here are better and so is the opportunity for culture, but Charlotte can be a nice city.
