Freddy's got Medicaid
it took less than 2 months..now we can apply for the TBI waiver for the rest of his care.

yes, in fact the social worker usually charges quite the fee to help with the application process..so it was quick from a knowledge standpoint for dad. The actual processing was just regular processing time.
She didn't charge us a fee..she simply told dad what he needed and he ran with it.
You know dad..type A.
Now the TBI waiver services is another story. That could take a few months too, but the Neuropsychologist has his connections...nice!

new psych...better and more meds and he's in a better mood. We got an in home PT and he likes that better. He didn't like going to PT outside because he didn't like being with disabled people....hey you...you are disabled!!!! 
Still coming to grips with the emotional part. Still in denial..but things have calmed down.
He now takes a shower once a week (better than before) and we will hopefully get him going more.
Once the TBI waiver is in place, other professionals will come to the house to get him going and hopefully get him out to take part in activities that he might like.
I have to get his friends over there to see him but he says he doesn't want to see them.
it's a long road, but I'm starting to see the light.

it's a long road, but I'm starting to see the light.
I'm glad he's doing better. It sounds like he is take a lot more "steps forward" these days.
I hope he continues to improve!
 for the rest of the benefits to come through quickly!

hopefully the TBI waiver services will kick in and can get him started on having a life again. All he does really is sit around the house..he goes to my house once or twice a month.
His son has come out and taken him out to lunch. We just need more involvement from others to help. He's only somewhat responsive to family and that's actually pretty normal for him.
It would be better in a group home type of situation but with his amputation that's hard.
