Pelvic Girdle Pain..........

..............anyone experience this during their pregnancy? I thought for the past few weeks I have been having trouble with my sciatic nerve but after doing a little research it would seem I am experiencing pelvic girdle pain which is caused by your pelvis softening and widening. The symptoms include shooting pain in your butt cheeks which I have been having for weeks now and a pain and tenderness across your groin area and inner thighs which is worse when getting up from a seated position and at night. Exactly what I have been complaining of.

Anyone else have similar issues? What have you done to make the pain more tolerable? TIA!! Chat Icon

Re: Pelvic Girdle Pain..........

At about 32 weeks I started to feel an achyness in my groin area. Now, at 33w3d every morning when I get out of bed I'm so sore it feels like I've rode a horse for the Kentucky Derby.

It's at its worse in the morning, but I definitely feel it when I get up from a seated position. Walking it out usually helps.

My midwife said its completely normal. She said it's the pelvis opening up.

I had this around 18-22 weeks - and it went away. But it was awful. I could hardly walk and each step was filled with pain.

I am now 33 weeks and starting to feel the beginning of it again. When I get in and out of bed my inner thigh area kills me.
