What is going on with my cat?

About 3 weeks ago, Murphy started limping. We think he may have gotten spooked by something, jumped off the window sill, and landed funny.

In addition to the limp - he was acting odd. He was hiding and not coming out. I took him to the vet about 3 days after it started. The vet messaged his leg, searched for a break and couldn't find anything. He gave me some pain killers and sent us home.

We finished the medicine and waited for it to go away.

Now he is still limping off and on, but he is purring and jumping around. When he does limp, its literally a 3 leg walk - so something is wrong.

Is it broken and the vet missed it? He never cries or pulls away if I touch his leg.

My usual vet can't see me until Wed. Should I take him someplace else? Do you think its just sprained? He is too young to be clumsy!

In order to do the xray, they will have to sedate him - I'm really not crazy about doing that.

i would recommend getting a second opinion. dr.saver in new hyde park (catnip and carrots) is a phenomenal vet. she specializes in cats and rabbits. the fact that he is still limping after all this time has passed is very concerning.

Did they check for a thromboembolism (blood clot)? Does the limb feel cold?

Oh man - I never heard of that in such a young cat.

I'm going to call another vet tomorrow morning and see if they can take us tomorrow night.

The weird thing is - today his isn't limping. It comes and goes. So odd!
