It's like deja vu all over again...
So all this talk about gas prices got me thinking...
To me, the gas situation now has a certain ring of similarity to the gas crisis of the 70's.
If you think about it, cars in the 50's, 60's and 70's were big gas guzzlers. Then we had the gas crisis and low and behold small Japanese imports flooded the market. Heck a good many of the comercials didn't boast their cheap price but how high their MPG was.
Some of you may recall the first Honda Civic to hit the market was VERY small. Alot smaller than the one around now.
So my question is this...
Do you think the price gouging of gas is the governments tactic of getting the american public to downsize their vehicles?

no - I don't
there is a HUGE increase in demand for oil in emerging markets like China and India.
supply & demand
HOWEVER - I do think that OPEC is controlling the high prices by refusing to increase production along w/this increased deamand.
