Besides Top Point, where to go for JHS?

I think I am going to be doing this next month. But now for the hard part, where should I go? I have heard some horror stories, and I don't want to be one of them. Chat Icon

I live in Manahattan, but will travel to Nassau.

Re: Besides Top Point, where to go for JHS?

there is a good place in NYC- it's in the 30's

Let me see if I can find it for you

I think it starts with an H

why wouldn't you want to go to Top Point- as long as Tracey does it - it will come out great

my hair is perfect- so is my sisters and my friends- it's been 7 months and I still don't need a blow dryer

you could take the train right there- the 7 or the LIRR

New Mode-Plainview

Starts at $250...I think $20 more if
u hair is long.

Was out in 3 hrs, no probs and they do all....the entire process.

Oh and you can haggle them too!

I went to Kim Sun Young Hair salon in Bayside. They also have a location in the city. However, they were not cheap. I had pretty long hair when I went and think I paid $300-$350. I can't remember. However they did give me a coupon towards my next JHS.

I think you are referring to Hidi Hair-I had it done there. You can actually take the LIRR into Penn and walk, it's just a few block over. My hair was to the middle of my back when I had it done and it cost me $550, they did an awesome job. A friend of mine has had it done there too and it came out great.

Wow, this place is so much cheaper than the others!

I had mone done twice at Top Point. Janice did my hair and I have no complaints.

Next time I want to try New Mode or another place on Long Island... since I will have a very new newborn when I go I prefer to go somewhere closer to home.

I went to Top Point twice & Hair Village once.

First time at Top Point, I loved, loved, loved the results.

Second time, eh..not so much.

So I switched to Hair Village. It came so-so & didn't last as long.

I think it doesn't take as well the 2nd time or maybe she didn't leave in the stuff as long...not sure.

I'm going to give the keratin straightening a shot to give my hair a break for a few months.

Re: Besides Top Point, where to go for JHS?

if your hair is dyed or highlighted - they are not going to leave the chemicals in as long as they do on someone with there natural hair color

mine comes out a million times better then when I first started getting it done
b/c now my hair is my nautal color- and it dries straight- which it didn't when it was dyed

I firmly stand behind HAIR CLUB IB, they did my hair in about 3 1/2 hours (its down below my bra strap) and charge $160.00....it's been 3 weeks since and my hair is still pin straight!
