Yeah. This is actually a Nine Inch Nails song. Johnny Cash does an AMAZING job on this tune. Trent Reznor said he was in tears after he heard the recording. He even said after he heard Cash's version, he felt the song wasn't his anymore.

I'd be very curious to know if Johnny Cash heard this and wanted to cover it on his own or if someone brought it to him to cover.
It is also nice to see how progressive a music legend really was. Excellent cover.

Ok I am going to answer my own question:
"Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" was released on his 2002 album, American IV: The Man Comes Around. Rick Rubin, producer of Cash's American series and a friend of Reznor's, suggested the song to Cash."
Rick Rubin , as always, music genius and not to mention, Cash was 70 years old when this album came out.
