Re: Find what streets in NYC?
Here's a simple way to locate the cross st for an address on an ave. Take the # of the bldg, cancel the last digit, divid by 2, and add 27 for Madison Ave. That's the nearest xstreet.

Re: Find what streets in NYC?
ok, 625, cancel the last digit = 62
62 divided by 2 = 31
add 27, and you get 58th Street.
(This is all on the back of a bookmark from New York Magazine)
(Although it says that Madison and Lex are NOT true avenues - only have 50 #s per block.)

The F is orange, the N R & W & Q are yellow
subway map
I had that bookmark a few years ago & it was wrong. I wonder if they've changed the formula. Mapquest is easier, if you are near a computer.

Check it out, you can get directions via subway only, bus only, or a combo, or even walking only!
