In general, can you just walk in and get your nails done, or do you need an appointment?

IME, you can just walk in.
I've found that at more "spa" type places you need an app't.

at my nail salon, you can walk in but you will pobably have to wait. To be safe, its beter to make an appointment

I never make an appt. I usually never wait more than 5-10 minutes, if at all.

I never make an appointment either. If there is a wait, I'll just go to the next block. There are soooo many nail salons around here!
