Am I crazy?
I have a 3 month old daughter and I am already thinking about having the next.........A LOT!
We decided to maybe TTC after the summer, the age difference will be less than two years. Is that crazy?
A woman that I work with looked at me like I had two heads when I remarked that I thought 20 months was a nice age difference and then someone else commented that 20 months is nuts.
Does anyone have children less than 2 years apart who would like to share their experience?

Re: Am I crazy?
i'm right there with you, i have a 6yo, a 3 yo and a 5 month old and I'm ready for #4!!
my SIL has boys 17 months apart and she said it was pretty difficult especially for her older son since he didn't get the 1:1 time he needed. I think once you have more than 2, you could have them close together because the other kids occupy each other.

Re: Am I crazy?
my children are exactly 20 months apart to the day. and althought baby #2 was DEFINITLY not planned. i found it to be easy. i still had everything fresh in my mind, and all of my dd toys, and crib and all those goodies were like brand new. so i didnt have to buy anything new except for clothes. and now that dd is 3 and ds is almost 18 months, they have a BALL together. they play all day long, and chase eachother around the house. and they will grow up together. i am sure i would never have planned to get pregnant again when my dd was only 11 months old. but i am sure glad god had another plan.

Re: Am I crazy?
All 3 of my kids are less than 2 years apart. Not so crazy for some, totally insane for others. Its too personal a question to really say whether its good for you or not. Of course its more challenging when you have a small one in addition to a newborn but I can assure you its totally possible to not lose your mind LOL most of the time anyway. Just like you adapt from being childless, you will adapt to having 2 young ones. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Re: Am I crazy?
Mine will be 16 months apart when the new baby arrives. I'm a little nervous about how hectic it might be in the beginning, but DH and I wanted them to be close in age.
I don't know if it's true (or she was trying to make me feel better) but a nurse in my OBs office told me that studies show that psychologically it's better for your older child if you have the next one before they are 2 or after they are 3.

No I think like this a lot too but then I have a bad day and think I'm waiting 3 years. I think for me though the big thing I want to consider is the one on one time that DD gets as a baby so I am actually leaning toward trying after her second birthday instead of her first which was the original plan but we'll see. I change my mind 10 times day.

Liz says it well. Although, no plans of three for me (then again there were no plans for two .)
Mine are 18 months apart. You just adjust and so does the older sibling. Gabriella has always been good with him, but don't get me wrong, there are trying days. It's not bad though and I can already see how close my children are and how they entertain each other.

Re: Am I crazy?
I feel the same way! I plan on trying for my second around the time Katherine turns 1 which will be in September...I may even start before that! As of now, I want 3, so I will plan the last one (God willing) the same way. After a very serious Down's scare with this one, my DH is paranoid about age-related abnormalities (even though the Down's scare wasn't due to age), so wants to "bang them out" 1,2,3!! And secretly, I can't wait to be pregnant again; I had a terrific experience.
My sister and I are 20 months apart and my mom had a great experience and I hope the same is true for me!
