i finally firgured out

what doc to go to... i have a appointment monday and i will be 6 weeks... what can i expect them to do ...also (and i know its bad) but i have never been to a gyn before

If you have never been to gyn before I suspect that the dr will do a pelvic exam, take a PAP smear, and get a medical history.

Since you are PG I would also expect: urine sample, blood sample, weight, blood pressure, an Rx for pre-natal vitamins. Not sure, but you might get an internal sono at 6 weeks.

Believe it or not, it appears some doctors won't even do sonorams until 8 or 9 weeks.

I went yesterday at 7.5 weeks hoping to see something but the doctor said i have to come back the following week. :P

DH also went with me so we were both dejected at having to go back again! :P

Most doctors won't do a sonogram yet b/c it's too early to really see anything. You'll likely have an annual exam (urine sample, breast exam and pap smear). Since you've never gone to a gynecologist before, you'll probably have to provide some medical history. You may also have some bloodwork done. Good luck!

I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks 2 days! We could only see the sac and so the doctor took blood checked my HcG levels and had me come back three days later (first appt. on Friday, came back on Monday) for repeat blood work. We got to see the heartbeat in 2 weeks at 7 weeks 2 days!
