What are the "Safe" plastic bottles to use now?
I have no idea, isn't there a number or something on them that you can check to make sure they don't have the toxic plastic in them?

Look for bottles that are BPA free. I know that Born Free bottles are, and Dr. Brown's is now making them too.

I'm pretty sure Playtex Drop Ins are BPA free too.

The Born Free bottles are safe as are these Evenflow bottles

Glass bottles are always another option. There are also other BPA free items. BBB has a whole section under feeding.
