How accurate
It's said that if you're ALWAYS hungry when your pregnant then it's a boy. Did anyone find this to be true?
I ask because I eat none stop all day. I'm actually getting sick of eating but the hunger pains are so bad that I need to have something in my mouth at all time. I was just curious about the myth that it's a boy.

i doubt it - i am having a boy and i didn't want to eat anything in my first tri. now i am hungry a lot but i think that's normal for the second tri.

Same here and I gained almost 40 lbs already @ 29 wks b/c of my hunger

im carrying 2 boys and dont feel like eating very much. no nausua or aversions or anythign but im only a few weeks away and i have gained 25 lbs - twins normally you gain 35-45.

The recent article in the NY Times did mention that women carrying boys tend to eat more.
Some other studies done also show that it's true.
"In the first study to examine why newborn boys are heavier than girls, researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health and the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden have found that women who were carrying a male embryo ate on average 10 percent more calories than women carrying a female embryo. The study appears in the June 7, 2003 issue of the British Medical Journal."
Of course, all women are different in what they need to take in. If you're petite and skinny, you probably tend to consume more compared to a woman who's pregnant and overweight.

Absolutely true... myths.
But with that being said I ate like a HORSE - I would wake up from sleeping to eat - and I had a  . Gotta love those old wives tales!

I'm having a boy and trust me, I'm not always hungry. In fact, It seems like lately, my apetite has decreased.

I am never hungry and eat a lot less than before I was pregnant and I am having a 37 weeks pregnant, total weight gain- 12 lbs

Im having a boy and Im not hungry all the time... actually my appetite has decreased I think... at 30 weeks I am only up 11 lbs
